MESSAGE FROM KANSAS BPW PRESIDENT HELEN NORMAN:
Hello members of Kansas BPW,
This past week-end was exciting and overwhelming for all at State Convention. We were faced with several big decisions on the future of BPW/Kansas and our locals. With many ideas and research our membership passed to sever our ties with National and voted to rename our organization Kansas BPW. I have been emailing other states to see what the rest of nation is doing and so far it’s about half and half on the ones that have responded. We will have a new dues structure that will be addressed through our State Treasurer which we would have had to address no matter what the vote entailed. Also just to bring everyone up to current, National membership voted to merge BPW/USA to the Foundation. There is a license’s agreement fee of $40.00 per member we would have had to pay if we chose to go with BPW Foundation. Kansas members chose not to pay those fees which would have cost us over $6400.00. We voted for new bylaws which explain that our new yearly dues are $40.00 with $38.00 to the federation and $2.00 going to Foundation. E-mailing with other state Presidents, nationals should have the License Agreement ready for review on Friday. Each local can sign the agreement if they wish without the state having signed it.
Email from New York
I can not comment until I see the actual agreement. Facts have been changing so much lately that until I see the document I am not encouraging any locals to agree to sign it. Mary Goutos NYS

PRESIDENT JEANNINE'S MESSAGE:
Hi, all.
We in Bonner Springs can be very pleased and proud of our membership. There were 7 who attended State Convention plus 2 who are members of Bonner Springs Local and Greater Jo Co Local, too. As has been previously indicated Bonner Springs has many decisions to make. Name was changed at 6-9-09 meeting to Bonner Springs BPW, again not Business Professional Women, just BPW.
There is a list of 2009-2010 committees for each member to be a part of. Some have been returned. If you have not please volunteer and get involved. It is a very good way to learn more about our Organization. Some committees will require changes so you can be in on the ground floor suggestions and decisions.
Next meeting is June 23, South Park, 6:30PM. Food will be served - no cost.
Jeannine Gallagher, Bonner Springs BPW President
