The Kansas BPW Educational Foundation held it annual meeting in conjunction with the BPW/Kansas 89th Convention. Recognition of donors, the election of two directors and the announcement that Foundation is paying the registration fee for each BPW/Kansas member that attends Fall Conference were highlights of the meeting.
Enclosed is a current list of foundation Directors with their addresses and phone numbers. Loan and scholarship payments are made by Linda Linkugel treasurer, once she receives confirmation of enrollment and instructions where to mail payments.

Below is a message...in regards to Mary Tefft. Mary was a long member and supporter of BPW and has served many of us throughout the years. It broke her heart when Neodesha decided to disband but she kept believing in BPW. I will let you know more as the information becomes available through either Kathy or Sharon.
When Mary would come to Chanute, she would visit me at the feed-store. I knew Hazel (Mary Tefft's mother) was in failing health and Mary refused to put her in a nursing home. It seems as if caring for Hazel got to be more than she could bare.

Mollie Beard, BPW/kansas Past State President update:
Mollie is on a walker, but is in great spirits. She receives physical therapy 3 times a week at home. The new hospital is being built directly across the street from her home, so it will be close once they get it finished.
She says she plans to attend a BPW conference this next year. She turns 89 on July 24, 2008!
Her daughter and son are there with her, but her daughter lives in KC and wasn't certain how much longer she will stay with Mollie.
