The Collect
Keep us Oh God from pettiness.
Let us be large in thought, in word, in deed.
Let us be done with fault finding and leave off self-seeking.
May we put away all pretenses and meet each other face to face,
without self-pity and without prejudice.
May we never be hasty in judgment and always generous.
Let us make time for all things;
Make to grow calm, serene, gentle.
Teach us to put into action our better impulses, straightforward and unafraid.
Grant that we may realize it is the little things that create differences,
That in the big things of life we are at one.
And may we strive to touch and to know the great, common human heart of us all and,
O Lord God, let us forget not to be kind.
Emblem Collect
Give us, Oh God, a realization of what our emblem stands for.
With its standards before us,
May our lives be a little stronger and finer than yesterday.
May we weed out a little more of the selfishness and greed that make our lives petty.
Help us to see the beauty of the golden circle that
binds many, many thousand women to higher ideal in these United States.
And, Oh God of Hosts,
may we forget not the ideals of this symbol, the beauty of art,
the need of knowledge of our responsibility to the business world,
the opportunity to uplift, and the ever increasing need to be kind.
